To help promote their exciting brand, Marston’s EPA asked CST to create a competition for bands to win a gig at the Mathew St Festival in Liverpool.

To enter, the bands upload their YouTube video via the online entry form on the EPA site.

We decided to use YouTube rather that hosting the videos on the EPA site itself as:

  • Many bands already had a video there
  • Many smartphones come equipped with simple "Upload to YouTube" facilities
  • It offers EPA protection from people uploading inappropriate content.

The winner is chosen by a public voting system, with lots of social media integration and promotion. (Voting launched in May 2011)
